Robot-Supported Aging-in-Place for Older Adults with Dementia

This innovative and ambitious project is funded by the National Institute of Aging (R01AG075892) and is being conducted in partnership with the University of New Hampshire. The project is designed to design fully autonomous robots that, along with smart home technologies, can enable persons with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and related dementia, age in their own homes through offering caregiving support.
Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (IAD) are at high-risk of premature relocation to long-term care settings primarily due to caregiver burden and concerns with functional capacity and safety.
